Sandisk extreme usb 3.0 stopped working

I use the sandisk extreme with my mac book pro osx 10.8.5.  I have used these two together for about 8 months. 

The sandisk just quit working.  My mac and two other machines don’t recognize the sandisk now.  I have several files on this sandisk drive that i would like to recover.

Other than always make sure you have a backup,or two,of important files, no.  Based on what you said the device is dead.  A local tech repair shop may be able to offer better advice after looking at it.

You already tried other 2 PCs, that would mean that it’s defective hardware wise. I hope this one is still under warranty.
