Hi, yes I have. They tried to help me. They said this version has some issues and Asked me to update the firmware but it has been updated.

I tried that it in windows but still not working.

Last option is erase it but I don’t want to erase and format it now because i need all my photos on it. I just struggling to find an app to recover my photos then i need Scandisk to exchange it for me.

I received an email yesterday that said you would close my case if i didn’t get back to your email in 24 hours and I replied immediately. Could you please let me know when your support team will respond to me ? and What can i do ?

Thanks

I’m sorry you’ve lost the data on your external drive. It’s frustrating, especially if you have important photos or other files on it. Firstly, If your MacBook can’t read the drive, connect it to another computer, such as a Windows PC.
A Photo Recovery tool can help you recover the photos from your SSD and bring them back. I recommend Stellar Photo Recovery software, which I have used to recover my deleted videos from my drive. You can try the free version to check the recovery options for yourself.

Did you check the format of the external SSD? If the file system is incompatible with macOS, it will not be readable by the Mac. For instance, macOS does not natively support Microsoft’s Resilient File System (ReFS) for reading or writing. If you want to use the SSD on Mac, you will need to reformat it to exFAT, or APFS or HFS+.

If it is not caused by incompatible format, connect your external SSD to another USB cable or USB port and see if Mac can recognize it.

If the issue persists, open Disk Utility, run First Aid to verify the file system and repair any found problems. This should help to resolve issues like an unreadable disk.

If nothing helps, recover your data from the external SSD (if any) then initialize it. ( A related post: Fix The Disk You Attached Was Not Readable by This Computer )

Sorry this happened - losing photos is incredibly frustrating, especially when the drive is relatively new.

That macOS message usually means the file system is corrupted, not that the data is gone. First, don’t format the drive, even if macOS suggests it. Try connecting it to another Mac or a Windows PC to see if it’s detected there. On Mac, open Disk Utility → View All Devices and run First Aid on the drive (not the volume).

If the drive shows up but won’t mount, a data recovery tool that supports macOS can often scan it and recover photos before things get worse. If the data is important, avoid repeated attempts and consider recovery first - very write reduces your chances.
