Hi! I want to use the SanDisk App to encrypt files that are copied onto a SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 128GB flash drive. My vision is to copy D: Drive documents onto the flash drive to encrypt.
The original files like Word and Excel documents are on the D: Drive on a Windows 11 PC. The C: Drive is for applications and the D: Drive is for documents.
However, when I access the SanDisk App, it only shows the C: Drive in the left column under My Computer. But not the D: Drive.
The D: Drive properties show that the type is Local Disk and File System: NTFS.
Any ideas on why the SanDisk can only see the C: Drive and not the D: Drive?
Thanks for any suggestions!
That’s a bit odd. If your D: drive is a normal local NTFS partition and Windows can access it without any issues, it should generally be shown to SanDisk SecureAccess as well.
A few things to check first:
- Can you see the D: drive in File Explorer and open your files normally?
- Can you run SanDisk SecureAccess as an administrator?
- Make sure you’re using the latest version of the software, as older versions can have compatibility issues with Windows 11.
- If your D: drive is a mapped, virtual, or BitLocker-protected drive, that could also affect how SecureAccess detects it.
If none of that works, you can share a screenshot of Disk Management showing your C: and D: drives. That would help narrow down whether it’s a Windows issue or something specific to SecureAccess.
Thank you for your reply. I figured it out.
My D: drive is a normal local NTFS on disk 1 (not seen in the Samsung App) and C: Drive is on Disk 2 which is seen within the Samsung App.
I had to open 2 File Explorers. One for the D: Drive and the other for the Flash Drive.
Then I copied and pasted the D: files to the Flash Drive via File Explorer.
Once the files were on the Flash Drive, then I could proceed with the encryption process using the Samsung App.
Now that I figured out the process, I am good to go.
Thanks again for thinking and replying about the issue.
