@NigelM100 This means the drive is not supported or not seen by SANDISK Security. Use SANDISK Memory Zone on supported drives for password protection.

Try this these.
If the SSD opens normally and your files are there, nothing is wrong with the drive itself. It is just the security app failing to recognize it. Using built-in encryption like FileVault or BitLocker is a safer option.

It seems , this app isn’t detecting your drive. you can update your firmware and sandisk security software or you can check disk management. lastly you can check with the drie format i.e.try to reformat the drive to FAT32.
