Replacement Clip for Sansa Clip

I’m VERY unhappy with Sansa’s service and product. I purchased the Sansa Clip recently and the clip has already cracked and fallen off from normal use. I called the customer support and they were not willing to do anything for me except to say I could buy a new replacement clip for 9.99. They consider it an accessory, which does not make any sense. Good luck, I think I may have to go with a different brand.

Normal use can mean different things to different people. I had one Clip for nine months that I used daily, the clip did get a crack, but never broke on me before I traded it away. My other Clip I had for seven months before I sold it, again, daily use, and the same holds true. It still hasn’t broken to this day, I sold it to a co-worker. The replacement they told you about is actually a pack of three, I believe…I would get that rather than get all mad and just go buy something else…it would certainly be a cost-efficient solution.

I’ve seen this response from SanDisk Customer Service before.  With all due respect to those nice folks, I would refer them to the SanDisk warranty, which has no exception for the Clip’s clip.

if something is physically broken it usually will fall under the physical damage clause which would exclude it from warranty. most all companies i have delt with have similar policies.

As I said, I’m not aware of an exception for the clip in the warranty; but I gaven’t read the policy in awhile.

I would gladly pay $10 for a new clip.  I just do not know how to order one!  I haven’t been able to find it online.  Not anywhere.  How do you get one?

Like these in the SanDisk store?

Click on this to order a pack of three of them for $10

Thanks for the links, people.  Don’t know why I couldn’t find it.  I was about to use a bent paperclip.

For the record, my original clip actually rusted out.  But that is not the point.  The point is that the clip piece is removable - i.e., it comes off.  I wear it in the gym and have bumped it the wrong way and it gets dislodged from the player.  I imagine this happening to many users.  Small things get lost, like between the seats of your car.

What about those people who live outside the USA - how are we catered for and can be get 3 replacement clips for 10 euro?

I hope the replacements are of better design. The originals are flawed and should have been replaced by Sansa as defect in materials or workmanship. Nearly every one of these I’ve seen developes a small crack at the relief area for the spring tab. Poor design - either the plastic should have been a different material or the area should have been thicker.

Want a better one? You’ll have to mill it out of aluminum bar stock!
