In such cases I like to shop in stores that I already do the serial insertion in the store and do not come to the house and then try to solve problems.
If the store you purchased at deals with it on a regular basis they sure have a way to solve it for you you should try and not get involved ... !!
Plus try to send the serial in an email of their support they reply pretty quickly
Did you buy it from a reputable dealer, there are many fakes around, even on amazon as its been reported.
