I have the same problem, try various applications and has now been impossible to format, delete, or write to the drive
You need to isolate the issue first. Try out on another computer and see if it behaves the same. If yes, then check out with the store where you bought this from.

Tell the store you didn’t give money to the product company you gave it to him. The product is flawed and you want your money back, from him.
