Non Functioning /Playlists?

I’m having a problem with the Clip recognising some folders (MSC mode). All folders have an m3u. One playlist presents the artist name and two graphic blocks (one each side of the screen), I can’t go any further and have to back track. Another two playlists says “Empty” with “GoList” at top of screen when it is not. I have tried formatting the clip and copying everything back and making new playlists (MP3Tag) for the affected folders with no joy. I am running the latest upgrade. The updater was updated the other day which is when I seemed to get my problem, though it may not have anything to do with it.

No response…must mean everyone else is problem free

I’m still having problems with playlists. I recently created two new folders on the Clip and created m3u playlists (mp3Tag), one folder of songs works fine the other doesn’t saying it is empty when it isn’t, I created a 2nd playlist for the problem folder with a slightly different name, that one displays the artist name with graphic blocks each side. Playlists seem to be an ongoing problem with the Clip.

The problems I’ve had with playlists always involved how the filenames were expressed, by which I mean that the location of listed mp3s was no longer correct when I moved them to a new place.  In mp3tag I just make everything relative to the folder where the mp3s are, with the playlist being put in the same folder.  From then on I just move them together, so everything is always in the right place.

You can open the playlists in Notepad and see if the listed mp3 filenames are expressed in terms that are correct relative to where the playlist is.

But, I have to admit that so far I’ve just dumped everything into Music.  So I don’t really know how added folders might affect playlists.

The screen of the device displays Artist name (1st line), title of song/album name (2nd line). Artist name, title song, and album name are hidden inside songs.

Let’s play around with 1 song and you can know how artist, titles work:

      1. right mouse click on 1 song of the playlist

      2. select properties >> select summary tab.

Now, you can check Artist, Album Title, and Title (song’s name), and you can change them right here.

sync this song to device and you can see your change.

You can modify for one or several songs by this way. If there are many songs to change, you need Mp3tag sotfware

good luck

Interesting that you got the artist name with graphic blocks.  When I’ve tried to manually create playlists, I’ve gotten the graphic blocks but no text.  That makes me wonder whether it might just be a text encoding problem.
