I previously had the latest available version of Western Digital dashboard software installed, which properly detected my system’s Western Digital Black 10TB internal hard drive.
When prompted I updated to the newest SanDisk Dashboard, and since then my WD drive no longer appears to be detected. It shows up under “Other Devices” as an icon for which clicking does nothing. Tried uninstalling / rebooting / reinstalling SanDisk Dashboard, no change.
@ALAN_ZAK The SanDisk Dashboard does not support hard drives (HDD). It only supports Solid State Drives (SSD). You’ll want to download Western Digital KitFox for hard drives.

As feedback for the Sandisk Dashboard folks, I would have appreciated a refined process to install KitFox rather than waste effort on that software, which wound up not being relevant to my setup. Also, minor thing, Sandisk Dashboard’s icon once installed appears as just plain “Dashboard”. Maybe add branding so it stands out.
I have uninstalled Dashboard and installed KitFox and now my WD Black drive is manageable, thank you!
The fix is to uninstall SanDisk Dashboard and reinstall the Western Digital Dashboard, which is made for your drive. Once you do that, it should detect and work normally again.
