My Book Attached to My Router Not Recognized By WD Utilities

Hello.  I’ve just purchased and attached a 2TB My Book to my Netgear Router as a backup device.  The drive shows as “Readyshare” under Network settings (as well as is mapped as a network drive on my PC).  It is working ok and I can manually back up data to it, but the WD utilities on my PC do not recognize the drive, so I can’t do automatic backups, etc.  Do the utilities only work if the drive is physically attached to my PC?  If they work in a network setting, what do I need to do to get them to recognized the drive? Any help would be appreciated!

Hello there, the WD utilities will not recognize the drive if the drive is not a network drive (My Book Live, My Cloud, etc.). Which My Book do you have?
