My 16GB SanDisk Cruzer Facet Flash Drive -HELP

When running diskpart, I got this status:

Current Read-only State : Yes

Read-only : No

How do I fix this flash drive? It’s corrupted, won’t let me format it, and I can’t delete any files.

My question is: can anyone here explain what’s going on, share a solution, or recommend an app I can use to get this flash drive back to normal?

Thanks a lot, sir…

Try this one.

Thanks for the update, Mr. SBrown. An I/O device error usually means Windows is having trouble communicating with the flash drive’s hardware.

Could you try these quick steps to see if we can get it working?

  1. Try plugging it into a different USB port (or another PC if available). => did not work.

  2. Run a disk check: Open Command Prompt as admin, type chkdsk X: /f /r (replace X with the flash drive letter), and press Enter. => did not work.

  3. If Windows asks to format it, we might need to use a tool like Rufus to reset the drive, or Recuva if you need to save the data first. => did not work.

Let me know if any of those steps work! Any idea, sir…?
