Must Factory Reset to Connect

After downloading media onto my Connect and disconnecting from my computer, the computer will not recognize the Connect again till after I run a factory reset and format on the Connect. I checked and I am running the most up-to-date firmware for the player and Win XP home edition 2002. Has anyone else run across this or a similar problem?

Are you using Windows Media Player 11?  If you reboot your computer, is the Connect then recognized?  If these two conditions are true, then it has to do with a bug in WMP11 that has been resolved with a hotfix available via the link below.   Without the hotfix, when you disconnect then reconnect the Connect, it won’t see it unless you reboot your computer.   If this describes your situation, then the hotfix should resolve.

I am using WMP11 so the fix should help. Thanks for the assistance.
