None of the Sandisk Clip players support remote control but the buttons on the Clip Sport are big and it’s easy to attach the player somewhere convenient to operate it while running.
When looking for earbuds I make sure to get ones with flat rubberized coards. These don’t: tangle, wear out, or carry interference (the sounds the buds will carry from the cord rubbing against your clothes; if someone has a better term than interference, let me know). I also loop the cord behind and over my ear before putting the buds in the canal and this helps keep them in place better, stresses the bud connection less, and reduces interference further. Lastly make a figure 8 with the cord when you’re wrapping it up and this will reduce tangles and knots.
With all that said, the ones I’ve enjoyed most are NuForce NE, Lethal Audio earsubs (discontinued), and Coloud Pop. They all are reasononably priced (less than $20), sound good, last long, and fit well.
If you’re looking for over the ear phones, Monster DNA has a lot of nice features (replacable cords, two jacks, ability to daisy chain to other headphones), and consumer reports gave it their approval.
I wrote mic/remote button by mistake. I don’t have a need for mic I was only looking for the button to control the MP3 music.
This is similar to Zipbuds product which has a button. However, that product probably not a great fit for running. Was looking for something similar which won’t tangle.

They call it microphonics.
My favorite very inexpensive in the ear isolating earphones is the $13 Soundmagic ES18. I have earphones that cost much more than this, however this is still one of my favorites.
