okay… my first problem with the clip was i could not get my laptop to read the device. that was fixed. my second problem is not being able to load songs onto the clip.
i was told that i needed to upgrade to WMP 11 in order to do so. i did this. I now have a legit WMP 11, but i am still having problems. i really dont want to take the clip back. its the perfect size for my needs and has 8 gigs!!!
i would really appricate if some one could help me reslove this once and for all.
if i had to go back and re down load all my songs i will.
this is the message i get when i try and sync music using WMP 11:
“Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available.”

Are you the Administrator on the computer? I would assume so. What format are your songs in?
im not sure what you mean by format. they are all mp3… is that what you are asking?
yes, i am admin.

Thats what I was wondering, BUT that just kinda gives me more questions. Where did you get the songs from? If you ripped them yourself from CDs what did you use? Are you using an external hard drive or flash drive, to store the music? What mode is the player in (MTP/MSC)?
i got all my songs from thepiratebay.org. they are saved in a folder on my desktop and im in MSC mode.

OK. Well that kind of explains things. There could be a couple of things. I need to ask why are your trying to use WMP when you could just drag and drop them? I would try that. Second is the source. Thepiratebay is not the most Legal thing in the world and it is not the most reliable. Do the songs play in WMP? If so you could try changing the player back to MTP (which is what is best for use with WMP, and MTP mode is why you needed a legit copy of WMP) and then transfering with WMP. If they dont play in WMP then you should probably find another way to get music.
PS. Thepiratebay has that name for a reason. I as a musician dont support use of it but I can understand why people do. They have rampant copyright infringment on that service which I find to be grossly unethical, but none of that matters. YOur downloads may be perfectly legal but sometimes the downloads from that site are pretty poor, and dont work. You may just need to find a different service for getting your tunes. (And BTW I have used Thepiratebay for a few legal torrents)
everytime i try to just drag and drop in mcs it tells me that the songs are write protected and my laptop will not read the device in MTP.
where else can i go to download full albulms? i dont mind paying as long as its not too much.
i also dont understand why it makes a diff where i get my music from. the music is already on my pc so i should be able to load them automaticly.
oh, in WMP at the very end there is a protected tab and every song says NO, but yet when i try and drag it tells me no cause they are protected.

Will they play in WMP? What I would guess is that you have downloaded albums that were uploaded by someone who had protection on them on their PC and probably didint know. Thats why I dont trust places like that you dont really know what you are getting. It doesnt really matter where you get the music from but if you get it from someplace like Amazon you know the files you are getting dont have DRM or any kind of protection, where as other places you dont get that. Some thing you could try is to find a CD and rip it to Mp3 format using WMP, and then try to transfer it and see what happens, if that wont work then try Drag and drop. If you get the same results I would return the clip for a new one, and see if that works better maybe you got a defect.
