iXpand keeps disconnecting during copy process.

Hello I recently purchased the 128GB iXpand 3.0 for my iPhone 7 Plus and I keep having problems during the copying process. The app crashed on me once during copying pics and videos and the other times it keeps saying that the storage loaction is not connected after copying some of the videos and images. Its almost like the drive is disconnecting itself during the process. The drive is plugged in properly and I had it laying on my desk while it was copying. The app is also the latest version so can anyone tell me what could be causing it to disconnect during the process? Thanks

if you have another iOS device to test with that would help isolate the issue. If you see the same issue on other iOS devices the drive may need to be replaced.

I have the same problem!  I purchased a SanDisk iexpand mini in order to take the photos off my iphone and free up space.  When I’ve tried to copy them to the drive (because I want to make sure it works before the possibility of losing my photos) it transferred 36 but now keeps sayingg “Storage location not connected”.

I have this problem, too. There is absolutely no way to copy a larger amount or even one large picture/movieclip to this device. I tried several iOS devices. (iphone XS Max, iphone XS Max, iphone 8, …) No way. After some seconds of copying the App reclaims that the iXpand is not connected. “Storage location not connected”. Every time this happens, you have to close (realls close) the app, diconnect the  iXpand, reconnect it, and start over.

That device is absolutly unusable. Copying all the pictures of a weekend-trip last hours …

Do you have a case on your phone? Mines works fine now (I have updated the app a few times since I made my original post). I had a case that I suspect messed with the drive even though it looked plugged in. Now I use an ultra slim silicone type case or not case at all when transferring files and it doesnt give me problems. The app does crash every now and then but for the most part the drive and app are doing way better for me than it originally did when I first bought it.
