Sounds like you formatted it incorrectly. How did you do it?
I guess yes,ı did it right-click and format, just like sd cart formatting
I haven’t faced this and so am just trying to troubleshoot here, but can you reformat the player by connecting to your computer, right clicking on the drive icon, and then using Windows to format the player (using FAT32 as the format method)? If that doesn’t work, I wonder if you need to use a drive partitioning software first, to set the player up from the start–there are various freeware softwares out there that can do this for you. I’m partial to the partition software from Easeus (http://www.easeus.com/partition-recovery/ – – 32 and 64-bit) and Paragon Software (http://www.paragon-software.com/free/ --32-bit only), each of which has free versions available (see the above links) that likely would do all you need done, and are dependable companies. Note that Easeus also has a separate “partition recovery” freeware program (http://www.easeus.com/partition-recovery/),,) but that seems to be included in Easeus’ partition software as well. Although partitioning software might seem a bit complex at first, the Easeus and, I believe, Paragon softwares include “wizards” to walk you through the fairly simple partitioning process, and the process only takes minutes, in the end.
Same problem with mine. Won’t re-format and won’t do anything. Files say they are there when connected to PC but the clip itself shows no music and then won’t re-format either.
Unless you intentionally navigate to the reserved partition, the firmware area should remain intact on the AMS Sansas. Simply right-clicking and selecting “format” should only operate on the data area (the root directory) of the device.
Does the device operate normally, meaning the Sansa logo on startup, and the main menu?
If this does work, then go to Settings > System Settings > Format > Yes, and allow the Clip+ to format itself automatically. This will erase all media from the device, allowing you to start fresh. Always have a backup of your music on your PC before clearing the device completely. If you haven’t, as they say, “there’s no time like the present.”
If the device is frozen, try resetting it via the soft reset (press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds). You can install / update your firmware from this point, as long as the device is communicating with your PC when plugged in.

Rockbox does not support Clip+ yet.
Try reinstalling the original firmware.
That means you have the rockbox bootloader but not Rockbox installed. Reboot into the Sandisk firmware (hold left while booting), then either uninstall the rockbox bootloader, or install Rockbox itself.

Try reinstalling the original firmware.
Rockbox certainly supports both the Clip and the Clip+, all versions.
OOPS - sorry, that is true - I thought I was in the Fuze+ forum
(too many forums, not enough memory)
I was on their site yesterday, it says it does support clip plus and by other posts in various forums, it looks like it has for awhile now.
