You do NOT need to change the format it deletes your stuff on your’e mp3 .
If you have window media player you can sync it on to your’e mp3 [it has to be hooked up to do that and just plug it in and don’t press buttons while putting usb cord in to computer port].

I don’t know if this will help, but I recently bought a sansa clip and it didn’t work with vista. it would just keep beeping and saying that the media storage device was not recognized. The clip still said that it was connected though. I finally figured out though that Vista does not “unrecognize” a USB device from the port until something different is plugged in… this is according to the device manager. So what I did was I removed the device and tried the “turn it on, click it into hold, then hold down the middle button til you see the “lock” picture on the clip’s screen, and then plug it in.” I plugged it into a different USB port and this finally fixed the problem (at the third port is when I figured it out). Call me stupid, but this thing is a piece of garbage, not Vista. I have had nothing but success with Vista, and it took me longer to figure out this stupid sansa trash than it did to figure out how to fully utilize Vista. Pathetic. Anyway, thanks for the help guys, I wouldn’t have figured out any of this without this page because there are no instructions that come in the box from best buy. Unfortunately, Ill probably just stick to MS mp3 players from now on because this is the first time I have ever had a problem with an mp3 player besides with the gaypod.
loaded my wifes E280 this morning and it works a treat. I have a ‘clip’ and tried to loaded the same day on the same PC & it will not recognise it. What is going on? San Disk this is not acceptable! I have spent the whole day d*cking around with your stupid product. Why won’t it work on the same machine? Did not see any caveat in your advertising blurb that this model may not work with some machines - it is a disgrace! Moderator - help me out because right now this piece of trash stinks.
