I can't delete or put content on my fuze

I went on the computer to delete some songs and it only showed the few that came with my fuze already,  I tried deleting them all and when I turned on my fuze I had 500 songs, but the computer tells me its empty.  when I try to put new content on, the computer tells me its there but the fuze doesn’t think it exists.

On the Fuze: Settings > System Settings > Format > Yes.

The sample songs on the Fuze are put on in MTP mode. While in this mode, your computer cannot see any content that has been loaded with the player in MSC mode. And vice-versa. The Auto setting defaults to MTP whenever possible. The Fuze however, will see & play all music (regardless of transfer mode) seamlessly.

I’m guessing that the songs you put on (the 500) were probably put on in MSC mode. That’s why they did not show up when you connected and the player was iin MTP mode (or maybe Auto). The only songs you could ‘see’ & delete were the sample songs as they were loaded in that particular USB mode.

So, as you can see it’s best to choose on USB mode and stick with it. It’s also advisable to manually select the USB mode of choice, rather than depending on the Auto-Defect setting.

If you format the device, either with the on-board Format function or through Windows, it will clear (erase) all content on the player (both MTP & MSC) giving you a clean slate to start over from.

This explains the basic differences between the 2 modes.
