have two sanza clips, 2g and 4g, both don't register on my computer, doesn't recognize either

He guys, I bought two sanzas for my handicap son and I, he got the 2G and I bought the 4G and we’ve had problems with Rhapsody all along, music erased from the mp3’s etc. But now the computer doesn’t even recognize either of them at all! If I have some music on my Media Player and go to upload it into the mp3’s, the Media doesn’t even “see” the mp3’s and they’re completely useless to me not. My handicap son’s has over 500 songs on it with the extra 4G SM card and my 4G with a 2G SM card the same thing. I tried to reload the software and reset it but of no avail, and I completely “got rid” of Rhapsody on my computer because I simply can’t stand them screwing up my mp3, music files and “Losing” music that was in my mp3’s. And their bogus billing practices are not acceptable to me at all. Where do I go from here? I’d like to get my mp3 players back again and start using them. Now I use them with CD’s and music I already have on my Media File to download into them because Rhapsody made music listening no fun at all. Just frustration and anger and Lord knows I have enough of that already.

No doubt this is an MSC/MTP problem on which there have been endless posts. Check what is on the player when not connected to the computer, if they show up they are there. You may also be having some sort of synch problem with Rapshordy, but I don’t use it so can’t comment.

If the music is there, check in both modes using windows explorer.

You might want to telephone SanDisk’s Customer Service and walk through the issues with them.

From my own experience, I sometimes have had the issue where a computer won’t recognize the player (or another external device) anymore–the solution has been to de-authorize the device under Windows’ device or disk management, to force Windows to set up a new and fresh connection when next connecting to the computer.
