i have a sansa fuze version v01.2.31s. i am having problems when i sync playlists from windows media player 11 using my windows xp compaq evo n600c laptop.
wmp goes through the process syncing writes the music to the fuze put the playlist is not shown.
i have tryed many things to resolve this changing usb format, formatting the fuze, updating the firmware to the latest available but this has not helped.
i have also tryed it on a different computer also using xp and get the same problem.
when i open the fuse in my computer it doesnt recognise the 16gb sd card either.
i wonder if the link between is broken and or i have missing files folders
can any one help
cheers
If I had a dollar for every person who has posted on this forum citing problems with ‘syncing’ (with or without WMP), I could retire a very happy man!
I know there are those here that disagree with my creedo of ‘sync stinks’, but . . .
Drag & drop is easy; it’s logical; and it works. No issues. Period.
It’s your time. You can spend it (or waste it) as you like. Fiddle around trying to figure out what is wrong, what flaming hoops you have to jump through to get it to work the way you want it to (which most likley will never happen), post back and forth here for days waiting for the suggestions to come in, spend more days trying the suggestions and maybe . . . just maybe you might be able to git’er done. Eventually.
Or drag & drop the files you want from your computer to your player. And listen to music within minutes.
The choice is yours.
sorry to have bothered you
i misstook this a aplace to find and offer help to like minded people
maybe im not as computer savvy as you but i have spent time using my knowlwdege to solve my problem this was a last resort
the sansa fuze comes with no instructions and all the related software i.e converter and upgrade dont work.
this is why so many people come to this site.
the fact that you have to read my problem just goes to show how unuser friendly sansa products are
the video helps are a waste of time
sorry to have bothered you
oh by the way the drag and drop doesnt work either
Maybe your cord is bad if drag-and-drop doesn’t work.
However, go to Settings/System Settings/USB Mode and put it in MSC. Try drag-and-drop. If that doesn’t work, try a new cord.
There is a user manual online.
No bother at all, and I wasn’t trying to offend you in the least. It’s just that after seeing this same ‘syncing’ problem being voiced about 5 times just in the past week alone, I’ve got to ask, “Why are people torturing themselves trying to get WMP or other software to do for them what they can more easily do themselves?”
Your other post mentioned this occurred after using Songbird. I’m not familiar with it, so can’t say whether it’s involved or partially to balem for your issue or not, but it might be worth some investigation.
Are you using MSC mode or MTP? Drag & drop is posssible in both modes, but it’s best to use MSC.
What I said before wasn’t intended to drive you away. In fact, I encourage you to post more details so that someone here can help. But like-minded people? Don’t know if there IS such a thing. Certainly not here. :smileyvery-happy:

thanks tapeworm
sorry to be harsh but im getting fed up of my sansa. my fuze worked perfectly before i tryed to use songbird. songbird is another media manager application. its developed by mozilla firefox so i thought it would be ok.
i think the problem is with the file addresses between the laptop and the fuze. its sending the files to the sansa but they are not ending up where i think they should.
why doesnot the auto detect work. seems pointless to put in in if it doesnt work.
i have tryed another cable and the results are the same
also my laptop doesnt recognise the fuze in msc
thanks to you all for your help
Miikerman has explained it better here than I think anyone else has.
After reading this, you might understand why I lovingly refer to it as Auto Defect mode.
Auto Detect is only good for detecting Windows Media Player. Not Songbird–or Media Monkey, or Jet Audio, or iTunes, or Winamp, or any of the other music library programs out there.
Media Monkey will sync to the Sansa if you follow Media Monkey’s instructions. So will Winamp. I think someone has even figured out how to do it with iTunes. Maybe Songbird will too–but that’s up to Songbird’s developers and they need to explain it to you somewhere.
It is, shall we say, unrealistic to expect the Fuze’s itty bitty brain to be able to deal automatically with every piece of music software anyone comes up with, especially if it is newer than the Fuze. That’s not what Auto Detect ever promised.
Personally, I use MSC and drag-and-drop.
thanks for all the info and help
im just gonna use msc and drag and drop as has been sugested.
this way seems to work now
cheers
