Fuze Display shutting down for 10 sec. when i push a button

I’ve got my Sansa Fuze in January and today i have the problem that, if i push a button it works but the display is off for 10 sec. The Display is showing the normal write read letters, when connected to the PC. I’ve formated and set it to Foctory Settings. It all hadn’t helped. Maybe you know a solution for the Problem or is my Sansa “dead”( I don’t know the word fitting for hardware)

Sry for my bad English but I’m German

Thanks to all which will help me

if i understand you correctly,  your sansa fuze’s backlight turns off after 10 seconds.  It turns on again if you push a button but it turns off again after another 10 seconds.

go to settings > system settings > backlight and change it to your preference.

I thought he was saying that the display would take 10 seconds to turn on.
Some clarification on the issue would be helpful.  If, as marqck said, the “problem” is that the screen turns off after 10 seconds then you just need to change the backlight preference.

I read it that way too. May be a defect.

the display is out for (not after) 10 seconds directly after the button is pushed. Anybody has an idea what else can i do? firmware is new and it uses the Factory settings. Can I do a reset that affect the firmware? I think that the Display(hardware) is fully working(It shows all normally when connected to PC), but there’s a problem with the Firmware/Software? Any Solutions?

That doesn’t sound right. I’d advise call SanDisk Tech Support. You might have a defective unit. They can determine if you do, and start the RMA procedure for you if necessary.
