Error: "Cannot copy file. The device has either stopped responding or ..."

When I copy a bunch of podcasts from my XP computer to the player, sometimes I get this error where the “xxx.mp3” lists a particular file name. For example, if I copy 6 files, I may get this error 0 times, 1 time, 2 times for different files in the “batch” of files copied. Note that if I then try to copy the files that the Clip+ gave me an error on, they almost always copy fine. If I delete all 6 files on the Clip+ and re-copy the whole batch, sometimes I will not get the error at all.

To me it sounds like a timing problem in the code used to transfer files since it happens randomly and if I re-copy the same files it works OK.

Anybody else seeing this problem?

The full error message is: “Cannot copy xxx.mp3. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected.”

Yes.

This device sure is buggy.

You dredged up an almost 1 year-old thread to add this?

I saw that no one had posted a solution.  Let me now say that formatting the device appears to have solved this error for me.
