Empty `Music` folder SOLVED!

Greetings!

I, like many Sansa Clip 2GB owners, have had the music files in my music folder disappear (even though my clip reported 1.9 GB of files were still there!). Ive tried switching USB modes, firmware updates, etc, to no avail (very frustrating!). Anyway, heres what FINALLY worked for me today:

In Windows XP (SP3):

a) right-click My Computer / Properties.
b) click the Hardware tab
c) click Device Manager
d) expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers tree
e) right-click the USB controller that has the yellow (no driver) marking
f) right-click Update Driver option
g) wait a few moments while it searches for the driver…

BOOM! At this point, I got the message:

Windows MTP Portable Device updated. So now, I have a new tree in my Device Manager called:

>Windows Portable Devices
 - SanDisk Sansa Clip

And now, I can see ALL my files in the Music folder in any USB mode (Auto-Detect/MTP/MSC)!!

I hope this works for all of you too!

Cheers!

I expanded the ‘univeral serial bus’ tree and there was no yellow not working driver so I tried updating the driver for USB Mass Storage Device and it said ‘the wizard could not find a better match’. I’d really like to be able to see my music in MTP and MSC mode cuz at the moment it only works in MTP mode… :frowning:
