After loadings some podcasts onto my Sandisk e250r, when I removed the USB cable, I got the normal black and white SanDisk screen, then the usual opening screen. But the latter was only there briefly - it jumped up tol the top half of the Sansa screen area and the elements were jumbled. The menus couldn’t be accessed. This has remained the situation.
I found instructions for fixing a frozen screen. The first part of that - resetting - made no difference. The second part - installing new firmware - didn’t work. I couldn’t find out the firmware version anyway, not having access to the menus. When I ran the Sansa Updater, it couldn’t see my player.
I discovered the Recovery Mode instructions. I ended up seeing, on a black background:
Welcome to Recovery Mode
Please connect USB cable.
I connected it, and it said USB cable connected.
After a while, these lines appeared:
Enter USB2.0 MSD mode
Still the Update didn’t see my player.
Now what? There are no more instructions.
Is my Sansa fixable, or is time to throw it away?
