This is a fairly common issue. Some users also find that after formatting a USB drive, Windows is unable to recognize it. This problem is most likely caused by file system corruption. Check out this blog post to fix the USB not showing up on Windows issue.

That’s the reason we don’t format the drive aggressively. If the drive is showing in the device manager and not in File Explorer, then use Disk Management
- Press
Win + X→ Choose Disk Management - Look for:
- “Removable” or “Unallocated” drives
- No drive letter assigned
- If you see it:
- Right-click → Assign Drive Letter / Format / Create New Simple Volume.
And, if It Shows in Device Manager but Not Disk Management: Uninstall USB Device
- Win + X → Device Manager → Expand Disk drives or Universal Serial Bus controllers
- Find the USB (it might say Cruzer Blade, Unknown Device, or Mass Storage)
- Right-click → Uninstall device
- Unplug → Reboot → Plug it back in
