Converter makes my videos lag, I think

Hello, after I convert video files through the SMC and play them on the mp3, the sound to video ratio gets mixed up. For ex, in movies I would hear the sound the character makes before they speak, know what I mean?

Is it  the SMC doing this or am I doing something wrong?

 Any help appreciated, thanks!

EDIT: Found a better choice of words ; the videos are not in sync, in terms of the sound output

It seems to a problem on all mp3 players.  It’s not SMC exclusively as ipods have the same problem too.  I think it’s just the converting process itself.
