Certain tracks wont play on my Sansa Clip

Hi

Hope someone can help on this ?

A recent problem has occurred which co-incides with upgrading my PC with Windows 7 software.

Using the WMP on my PC, I have ripped a few of my own CDS and then synchronised them onto my Sansa Clip.

However, when I play certain tracks on an album, they wont play and I get a message “synchronise to continue your music subscription” (?!)

  1. It seems to only effect a few tracks on each album

  2. I have tried deleting the album from the WMP library, then ripping it again and synching onto my Sansa, however the problem persists

  3. Previously loaded music is okay (those loaded on my previous Windows Vista WMP)

  4. I have followed the same method of ripping the CD onto WMP and then plugging in my Sansa to synchronise

  5. Tracks that used to play, no longer played when I re-ripped the cd on the latest WNP

The problem seems to have only occurred on the new Windows 7 WMP.

Has anyone any thoughts why this occurs and what I can do to fix it ?

Thanks

Alan

What format are you rippingthe CD’s in WMP? If you’re ripping im .wma, WMP by default adds “copy protection”, meaning DRM nonsense that allows you only to play that track on 1 device and usually is the cause for the “synchronize to continue” error message.

You can turn this off in the Rip Music settings in WMP and re-rip them. Alternatively you can use .mp3 format and not worry about it at all, but this would also require re-ripping.

Thanks Tapeworm

I dont know the format , I just click start rip and away it goes.

I will take your advice about changing the Rip music settings and re-rip them.

If I get stuck …I might need some help / guidance again !!

Thanks again
