I just purchased a Clip Zip for my daughter specifically for listening to Librivox Audiobooks. She has finished the first one and I cannot delete the files. They are read only! I cannot change the read only status from by XP computer nor can I delete them from the player directly. I have not found a solution to this on the forum, other than reformatting the entire thing. Thank you.
I have an old MP3 player (500mgs) that I use to learn the Baritone part for my Sweet Adlines Chorus. I need to delete old songs, but it won’t let me. I don’t want to reformat as there are songs on my MP3 player nowhere else.

Might I suggest you post in the All Other MP3 Players board then. This board is for questions/discussions about the Clip Zip model.
Btw, you could always copy over to your computer those files you wish to save. You should have them backed up anyway. Then you can format your player, erasing all user-added content and transfer back the saved files.
