A case with a clip built-in for a Sansa Clip+ with a broken clip

Does anyone know where to buy a case that will fit a Sansa Clip+. I need one that has a clip built on to it so I can attach it to a shirt pocket. Mine is two months old and the clip broke. SanDisk says “The clip on the Sansa Clip+ is not removable and it would not be possible to repair it since SanDisk does not have repair centers.”

Any help would be appreciated!

Your best bet is look at cell phone cases…I don’t know if you’ll find one near in size to a Clip+ though. Good luck!

My solution to a broken clip (which seems to break off pretty easily) was to simply tape a new one onto the thing:

Not the prettiest solution, but works suprisingly well.
The metal clip I used  came from a name badge.

A cooler, but also more expensive and labor intensive solution, would be to design a replacment case and 3D print it with a service like:

For those interesting, two photos of the Clip+ without the clip:

The hinge is really rather flimsy and simply broke of under normal use for me.

Did the clip break due to your handling of it?  Otherwise, the Clip+ has a 1 or 2 year warranty …

No, not to my handling. Went to put it on my shirt and it just snapped off. Pretty shoddy craftsmanship.

Mine feels pretty solid…more so than the original Clip’s clip, to be sure.

Ever see these cool magnetic badge holders?  The pair of magnets adheres to the badge (uh, the Clip), and the metal bar is slipped behind your shirt or jacket.  Very thin, and very strong.  Oh, and no moving parts either.

The rear clip is pretty strong on the latest device, but if you look closely, the pin is a stress point.  Perhaps you can carefully photograph the failure area, and contact Support.  This will help in determining the situation for you, if the joint simply failed.

The Clip+ has a 1 or 2 year warranty; I would escalate the call.  And/or, if you purchased via a credit card, you may have warranty protection via the card as well–you may want to check with your company.

Just talked to a SanDisk representative and he said when the clip on the back of the Sansa Clip+ breaks, the warranty is voided. Last SanDisk product I ever buy!! Nice way to back up your product.

I would check the precise language in the warranty that came with your product.  If the warranty doesn’t say that, the rep. is wrong–I’d call back and ask to speak with a supervisor, with all due respect to the rep., and nicely explain the warranty to the supervisor …  Persistence, and the warranty, may win out in the end.
