Yet another 'Not enough space for Music DB' thread.

Hello,

A few weeks ago, the message in my thread title appeared on my clip +'s screen. please note, i have an 8 gb clip+, which is ‘only’ about 5 gb full, so i can only assume the internal partition (i’m not using an external memory card) is corrupted somehow.

i’ve tried resetting the clip, by pressing the power button down (whilst the clip+ is switched off) for twenty seconds. that does reset the clip, but the original message still remains. i’ve tried connecting the clip to my two computers via usb (one runs windows 7, the other a linux distro), and neither recognise it, so i cannot format it. i’ve also tried pressing the home and centre button at the same time - nothing.

yesterday, i found out pressing the centre button whilst connecting the clip+ to a usb port might help. i press and held the button before inserting the clip+ into my usb port, which didn’t help. then, i inserted my clip+ again into my usb port, and pressed and held the centre button, just as the sandisk logo flashed up. again, nothing.

lastly, i even tried using the sandisk firmware updater, but it just hangs at the searching for updates screen. i’ve even tried inserting a memory card with music on it, along with the latest firmware files on it. unsurprisingly, again, nothing.

i’m running out of ieas here - can anyone offer me any assistance?,

the url you posted is invalid. having found the correct url, it hasn’t told me anything i haven’t already tried. and i cannot format the clip ‘internally’, as i cannot get past the not enough … screen, when i turn the clip+ on.

I think it probably time for a call to the “paid” SanDisk Gurus then.

Give’m a chance to earn their money.

Hi there, did you have any luck resolving this problem? The same issue has happened to my clip+. I had also tried all the things that you did with no success.

Read the post 2 above yours then.
