Volume level

Having my freedom of choice taken away from me is bad enough…having to claim to be American when I am not is simply unacceptable

Well, you can be smug, and enjoy your EU mandated quietness, or be bold, and come to the realization that North America includes Canada , eh?

Bob  (happy to be an American free of such nonsense)  :smileyvery-happy:

No need to explain to me where Canada is Bob…unlike most ‘North Americans’ I have a good knowledge of world geography!

Dam i better get some steaks out the fridge while the flames are nice and high!

People are libertarians when they’re healthy, and socialists when they’re not.

“Mr. Big Gummint, don’t tell me what to do with my health! But if I screw up and get sick/injured because of it, then you better dang well take care of me!”

We’re no different than the teenyboppers, really. They all want their freedom, until they get into trouble, then they come crying to mummy and daddy for bail money. I suppose in a lot of ways, we never really grow up.

EU law tends to rile people up more than that of their own government.  Maybe you have to live here to understand.

As for the sick/injured - we pay from the moment we start working (unless you have a very low income) for our health service, so yes we expect to be able to use it when we need it.  It doesn’t mean we walk out in front of a vehicle on purpose so we can use it, but if we get hit crossing the road yeah we would expect some help. This would apply to most situations.

I would suggest actually trying the player with the Europe firmware.  It’s far too low to be usable for many people.

Why would we try something that’s far too low to be usable??? Or did you mean you suggest we DON’T use it?

I was responding to another post (which I quoted).  I suggested HE try it, no one else.

Bob - as usual top notch help  It’s nice not to have go back to an older version.

N.B. I, like many others, really need the high volume option for external speakers to be of any real use -

[for anyone else don’t risk your hearing

Thanks a million Bob.

Thank you SOOOOOO much. It worked !  I am so happy as I was about to send my fabulous xmi-mini 11 speakers back to Amazon.  I was heartbroken as they worked on every other device and the worked brilliantly  too.  Now I am a very happy bunny … thanks to you. XXXXXXXX

Just to say - the volume thing has been really bugging me!  I’ve been searching (albeit not hard enough) for the past month since I got the stoopid firmware upgrade, on how to get my beloved volume back!  I only use the Fuze for the gym and its been 'orrible having to listen to crappy gym faux-dance music over my decent workout track - so…THANK YOU!!!

Thanks it worked. Is it true the EU are having signs at the top of ladders saying “STOP”

Only if your pet is American too. No German Shepards, English Bulldogs, French Poodles, or Austrailian Sheep dogs.

Hello everyone… Sorry, maybe this will be a very stupid question, but the volume trick posted at the beginning of this thread is possible on every european Fuze? Because I’m going to buy one of it by Germany, and I don’t want surprises :).  Thank you.

Ja. dies ist gut.

I just got mine delivered 40 mins ago and updated firmware. Glad i found this thread!!!

Excellent! That’s exactly what I came for. I bought a 8gb Fuze on friday, updated the firmware to the latest version yesterday and I was really mad when I saw that you couldn’t control the volume level anymore. With this update the volume’s REALLY TOO LOW! But other that that, the Fuze really is a fine mp3 player. Thanks!

Thanks Bob

Your dirctions wrked well.  Now I can use the player with a stereo system and an fm transmitter for the car.  I can even hear music on a noisy train!

Kind regards
