So, it works fine when plugged into any usb port, but it doesn’t charge, and it won’t store any music internally. (Got at a garage sale for $3, no biggie if it isn’t fixable, but what might be wrong with it?)
Hey John, welcome to the community! It sounds like your Clip Sport might have a faulty internal battery or flash storage. If it only works while plugged in and can’t store music, the internal memory or charging circuit could be damaged. You can try a factory reset from the settings menu (if accessible) or connect it to a PC to see if it shows up as a storage device. If it doesn’t, it’s likely a hardware issue. For $3, it might not be worth repairing, but you could still use it as a basic player when plugged in.
I tried the factory reset, I know it’s a battery issue now, so would that affect whether it would show up as a storage device? Because it doesn’t do that either.
