Used portion cache always 0,07 GB

Could it be a compatibility problem with Windows RAID1 or avast ?

i am not an expert but it would seem RAID 1 is causing the issue. would you be willing to set the PC up as a single disk config and see if the issue still occurs?

I suppressed the RAID 1 : no change. Nothing cached !

I’m going to return the package to Amazon.

Il presume the problem comes form the hard drives : Hitachi HDS721010DLE630. The Windows partition is a GPT with 1K sectors.

I have the same problem.

Macki,

Can you tell me if your system is configured for RAID? If so, which RAID are you configured for (0, 1, 5…etc)

RWillis

Macki,

Can you also provide the system configuration (32 versus 64bit OS; version of Win8; etc)

Rick

I did have 2 disks running software raid 0 as a test but they have been removed from the system before I installed the cachedisk. Some settings still interfering?

I have Windows 7 64 bit

Macki,

Quite possibly. You may want to try to reload the OS and ExpressCache just to make sure that the original settings, with the RAID, are not interfrering. We have experienced issues with the caching function when a RAID set is established on the system.

Rick

Macki,

Thanks.

Rick

No luck. I tried a fresh install of windows 7 but same thing.

Macki,

Can you try formating the cache partition for me?

From the command line issue the following:

ECCmd -format

This will format and clear the partition.

Reboot the system, and then attempt to load the same application (like Paint) a couple of times. Once completed, check the stats again with ECCmd -info

Thanks,

Rick

No change.

Update.

So support has escalated my problem and I’m eagerly waiting for some response. Meanwhile I have tried several things without any luck.

Different sata power/cables/slots. Fresh install of windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Different security software even without one present. Format, partition, preload, eccmd. I can confirm that the Intel rapid storage drivers 11.6 makes the system unaware of the ssd and downgrading to 11.2 solves that problem.

The system recognizes the ssd without problem and so does the readycache software. However eccmd preload command does nothing, format command does not seem to format the disk at all and the partition command return an error message (No valid cache devices are found in the system.
**ERROR** ECCmd exited with error 0x10cf (4303)).

I have tried the disk in another system with an Asus M4A88T-I Deluxe motherboard and then everything works as intended. Therefore I suspect it is a compatibility issue with my motherboard “chipset” / sata controller. I saw someone having similar problems in another thread also having the Intel ICH10 southbridge.

Why would you ever go through all of this trouble? Reinstall Windows? That’s crazy just send it back and try another vendor.

It’s not a big deal for me to reinstall and I would like to get it to work. I could try to send it back yes but most likely I would get a 50€ fee from the stor because it would work properly in their computer.

By any chance is anyone with this issue using bitlocker driver encryption or any other HDD encryption? If so could you disable the HDD encryption and see if the issue continues?

No I’m not using any encryption.

Mr. ChessWiz,

I noticed that you had this problem on one machine and then you reloaded it on another and it worked fine. Can you tell me the differences between the two machines? Another person had written in saying that they were having issues and that it may be related to an incompatibility with an Intel ICH10 Southbridge. Any chance that you could verify that for me?

Thanks,

RW
