Updater does not update even if AV off - any way to install Media Converter

Device: Fuze 4GB firmware 1.02.31

PC OS: Windows XP (all updates installed)

Firewall/AV: ESET Smart Security

The updater never worked on my PC. Starting it will display the Fuze model and firmware version, and then it will loop indefinitely trying to find any updates.

When I saw this on the old Fuze firmware version, I manually downloaded the latest firmware and installed it. It is nice how easy this is.

Still, the Updater will not find any updates. I already deactivated all functions of my PC firewall and antivirus software. There is nothing more I can do but uninstall the AV, and I will not do this.

Could you please advise how I can get the Media Converter in any other way?

Thanks!

I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND AM ALSO LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER - I DIDN’T THINK OF THE FIREWALL - OR ANTI VIRUS AND I DON’T THINK WE SHOULD HAVE TO TOUCH THOSE

I downloaded the SansaUpdaterInstaller.exe to my download folder and ran it from there.  It seemed to work…checked the internet… then tells me it has failed!  “Try back Later.”  I’ve tried but no luck.  It hasn’t worked on my desktop (Windows 7) or laptop (XP).  What gives?

You might try installing a different anti-virus… that worked for me.
