Try this one.
To remove write protection from a USB drive, first check for a physical lock switch on the device. If none exists, try updating USB drivers, using DiskPart commands to clear the read-only attribute, running CHKDSK. After that, you can format your USB.
If you need step-by-step guides, check this guide.
Open DiskPart:
diskpart → list disk → select disk X → attributes disk clear readonly → clean → create partition primary → format fs=fat32 quick.
If that fails, open Registry Editor and set WriteProtect = 0 under StorageDevicePolicies.
Also, try the drive on another PC. Read this guide for more options: https://www.stellarinfo.com/article/remove-write-protection-sd-card.php
Did you see an error prompt like this?
Try these steps:
1). Slide up the physical lock
Locate the small switch, which might also be labeled as “Lock” or “Write Protection", then switch it to the opposite position, reinsert it into your computer.
2). Clear read-only attributes on your pen drive by running Command Prompt
- Click the Start button (Windows logo), type cmd, then right-click “Command Prompt” in the search results and select “Run as administrator”.
- Type in: diskpart into Command Prompt, press Enter key.
- Type in: list disk and press Enter.
- Type in: select disk number and replace “number” with that of your USB drive, then press Enter key. (You can locate your USB drive in Disk Management according to the disk information and remember its disk number.)
- Type in: attributes disk clear readonly and hit Enter.
3) Edit Windows Registry
4) Use the built-in tool in Windows to run a disk check on your USB drive
Open This PC, find your USB drive, and right-click on it > choose Properties in the context menu > select Tools, and then click on the Check button.
