Still trying to see how I can get artist folders with songs to show up with a name instead of Unknown. I create an album, name it and put songs in it but on clip it shows as Unknown. I just found though, if I open WMP Library Songs window and drag the songs to it, it shows as all Unknown. Then if I right click and edit it, naming the album, artist, and contributing artist all the same, then copy that folder to clip it shows the artist and songs instead of Unknown.
I guess they have to be put in the library and edited, for I havent been able to edit any other way that works. And if I make sure two Artist folders not the same then it keeps them from getting mixed up in the same artist folder name. Since I am creating these there is not an official album name so I just make them a little different so songs stay in right one.

Takes a lot of thought though.
Soundls like you are not ripping from CDs or if you are they were burnt disks.There is a program that is calle mp3tag. It can connect to amazon and find the info you need based on nothing more than the title. This may speed up your process.
That is correct. While I do rip some songs from CDs and use the artist name even if from different albums, this doesnt present any problems. But if I compile an original “album” of varied songs in a folder, even if I give it a name it always comes up as unknown in the clip. That is what I was attempting to do; put a bunch of songs in a folder, name folder, and have that folder name show under “Artist” instead of “unknown”, with all the included songs underneath.
Go in and edit the tags so name and artist are correct and then name the Album your mix. Basically what you were doing in WMP but mp3tag for most is considerably faster.
