So I am trying to uninstall and reinstall because I am getting this error
“ExpressCache can not launch. Try using the original user account for the first time.”
I am the ONLY account on this computer and always have been. So I figured uninstalling and reinstalling might help. But when I try to uninstall I get the following error
Error Code: 1603
I looked around on google and found other installations that had this issue but not ExpressCache. Most had to do with Permission by the SYSTEM. I checked the SanDisk folder located in Program Folder(x86) and the permissions has everyone with full control over the folder. Any help?
In the contyrol panel for uninstall there are 2 entries for expresscache. expresscache (which is the driver) and expresscache app (which is the GUI interface) if you uninstall the driver manually you will get this error when trying to uninstall the app because it looks for the driver and tries to uninstall the driver.
try the solution in this post to manually uninstall the GUI then reinstall

I am not sure what is your current state, since you have manualy deleted files and registry keys.
In Programs and Features, there are 2 ExpressCache related installations:
ExpressCache and ExpressCacheApp.
You should uninstall ExpressCacheApp not ExpressCache. If you already uninstalled ExpressCache, you can do the following:
-
Remove the entire folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\SanDisk\ExpressCache (64bit) or C:\Program Files\SanDisk\ExpressCache (32bit system)
-
Open the registry and remove the entire key under SanDisk\ExpressCache
It can be under LOCAL_MACHINE or CURRENT_USER
- reboot and try to install again.
Let me know if that worked.
If you uninstalled ExpressCacheApp, you can try uninstalling ExpressCache and reboot.
Make sure folders and registry are clean before trying to install again.
