Good idea re: renaming tracks, but I would have to find a way to automate the process because I would be looking to change several dozen thousand files.
The tracks are WMA, ripped into windows media player. I havn’t tried it with any other format. Yes they do play fine on my computer. Its really an odd problem which only seems to happen when the backlight is off. If I leave the backlight on, I can lock/unlock, change volume without skipping, but this is an undesireable solution because of the increased battery usage.
I know how the first part feels and I havent found a way to do it, I am going thru over 100,000 songs and messin with the tags, Adding different art, capatilizing bad album titles, etc. So if i find something Ill let you know.
The second problem now sounds slightly more common. Why do you lock the player? If that is something that sets it off and can be avoidied that would be good (Obviously). Also something you could try, it might help, check your headphones. Unplug them, then re plug them, use a bit of fource as the jack is tight, you should feel it seat 3 times (Click into place 3 times). Some people have said this helps with the skipping in the songs.
