Sync 2 networked external drive

Hi.

I have a WD Essentials attached to an old desktop right now. We store our photos, etc on the desktop hd, and run windows sync to back everything up to the WD Essentials.

I want to get rid of the old desktop and just have the Essentials attached to my router, and purchase another external drive to serve as the backup.

I called WD and they said that the sync software that comes with the MyBooks will only sync from a PC to the WD…not WD to WD. They mentioned that there may be some 3rd party software that can do it though.

Another layer of complexity is that we are on multiple OS’s. I access the drive now via Windows, my wife on a MAC.

Need some suggestions.

Hello,

Check online on to see if you can find an application that allows you to do that.

If you connect the drive to a router that supports that connection, you should be able to see the drive from both computers.
