Suddenly stop playing: SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 4 GB MP3 Player

Suddenly stop playing:  SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 4 GB MP3 Player

My SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 4 GB MP3 Player suddenly stopped playing.  The screen went black.  No reaction to on/off key.

Then I connected it to PC for charging.  No any signs showing.  This is my 2nd  SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player, which quit on me.

My 1st one only shows “SanDisk sansa” on the screen after I turn it ON.  No responses to any key function (except OFF key).   It shows “Connected” when I connected it to PC for charging.   But my PC does not show this driver.  After I disconnect it from PC, the screen just freeze.   I could not get it work.  So I bought the 2nd one.  Now both quit on me.

How can I fix one or both?  Is the designs expecting  about 1.5 year useful life?

Thank you for reading this message.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you tried resetting it? Press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds. Release and see if it will start up normally. If not, try it for up to a minute. I know that sounds extreme, but it has been known to work in extreme cases.

Might work on the other one too . . . can’t hurt to try.
