Sansa Clip+ won't turn off

I bought a Clip+ 4GB player a few months ago. Now it will not turn off. The screen goes blank (power saver mode) after a few seconds like normal, but it keeps playing until the battery runs out. It appears the power button no longer works. I tried resetting it several times by holding the power button for 30 seconds plus, but nothing happens. Am I SOL?

Thanks

Not if it’s only a few months old. First, try holding down the power button for longer, maybe even up to a munte or more and see if it will shut down. If not, it’s covered under SanDisk’s 1 year waranty.

My daughter only had hers for a few weeks and it started to do that. This is the second one that she has had problems with.

I have a different sansa media player and have had it for years without problems.

I had the same problem - and my sansa clip is over a year old.  I think that I did it myself - I was trying to add an audio book disc to the clip and it was refreshing - anyway, after exhausting internet research - and (after I purchased another one from Amazon), I was sitting here and decided to just hold the power button on until my finger got tired - GUESS WHAT, the little flower symbol that was on went out - I then turned it on again - and it began 'refreshing.  Then IT WENT OUT AGAIN - with the little flower symbol.  I shut it off again, by holding that on/off button - then it went out.  I turned it back on and believe it or not, it is now writing the disk that I loaded in this morning.  Go FIgure!  I think I just asked TOO MUCH of the little thing.  There is hope!  Just persevere.  I love my Sansa Clip.

Only insert or remove a card while the player is off.

Who said anything about inserting or removing a card?
