Hello, first of all let me say I am very happy with my Fuze so far. I have the newest 01.02.26A firmware installed.
My issue is that when I am listening to song by artist or by album or by genre the Fuze stops playing after each song is completed unless I touch the scroll wheel or another button. However when the fuze is on hold this doesn’t seem to happen. Is this a bug or powersaving feature? Ideally I would like to be able to leave it not on hold so that I can skip songs I don’t want to listen to as I hear them without having to toggle the hold switch.
Is this a bug or a feature? If it is a feature is there any way to turn it off?

Its probably a bug. try updating the firmware
Hmm I should have the latest firmware, should I try to update it manually instead of through the updater program?
EDIT: Ok I updated the firmware again just to be sure, this time manually instead of using the updater feature… Still the same problem. Any insight?

try formatting the player under the setting and back up your stuff first.reload your stuff and see if that works
Thanks alot that did the trick!
ARgh… It worked for an hour or so and now I have the same problem again. I guess I could try to format again but this doesn’t seem to be a permanant fix. Does it matter which mode I use? If a moderator could possibly “unsolve” this thread that would be great, thanks.
You, as the orginal poster can ‘un-solve’ it. It’s under the Options in the top right-hand corner of the post.
Formatting needs to be done in MSC mode, but I doubt that it’s going to fix your problem.
And yes, you have the latest firmware. Did it do this before you updated it?
Okay I figured out my issue… I had the Fuze in auto mode, where it defaulted MTP mode but I was dragging my files onto the sansa like it was a thumb drive. After formatting again and switching to MSC mode, I dragged the files into the Fuze and it worked perfectly…
Thanks for all your help!
Rarrgh… Once again I thought the issue had been fixed but the problem came back. Its not a critical issue but certainly an annoyance. If any one can offer anymore suggestions or insight, it would be much appreciated.
How long do you let it “Stop” before you touch the wheel? Is it only a few seconds? Or is it like a Minute? The fuze can take some time to read the Id3tag for the track especially if you have album art embedded in the tag. Knowing how long you wait for the stop, what file format the songs are and if your tags are done in Id3tag v2.3 or newer would help to tell what the problem is.
Good point, CB. Didn’t some other people claim longer gaps or delays between some song file types after updating to the latest firmware?
Seems to me it had something to so with the ReplayGain feature that was added. Takes the Fuze longer to read the tag and therefore the gap is lengthened.

I wait for a good 15 minutes… My mp3s definately have a mix of birate and tag versions.
Maybe it is defective b/c it just died on me for a minute and I add to hold the power for 15 secs to get it to do anything.

Well that changes the whole thing. I would bet you have a lemon. If you can return it, of you cant call SanDisk for the steps for replcaement.
LEMONS!!! Sorry, I like that word. Lemons, lemons, lemons…
Looks like a lemon. I called tech support and they are going to send me a new one. Thanks for all your help everyone
