SSD suddenly stopped appearing in Explorer

After purchasing several months ago, my SSD suddenly stopped appearing in Explorer with huge data. It is listed in device manager of Win10 but not listed disk manager. My SSD is dead? or infected?

Hi @duriancom21,

First, right-click “This Computer” > select “Manage” > choose “Disk Management” to open Disk Management to check out the SSD status to figure out why it does not display up in File Explorer.

Case 1. Your SSD shows as “Not initialized” in Disk Management

You need to initialize it:

Right-click the uninitialized SSD and select Initialize Disk.

Select the disk to initialize in the Initialize Disk box. It’s up to you to choose MBR or GPT as the partition style.

Case 2. SSD shows a storage space but ‘RAW’, ‘Unknown’ file system

Reformatting your SSD will help it to be accessible again in Windows.

Case 3. The SSD not showing up because it is “Offline” in Disk Management
You need to right-click the SSD and then click Online.
