i’m going to 2nd, 3rd and 4th that gapless playback and FLAC support request to the Sansa developers!!!
if you want to set this device apart from the IPOD and build a cult following for it - then you need to make it do things the Apple doesn’t.
so far the FM radio, expandible MicroSD slot and quasi-open source software/functionality are on the right track.
keep going
make it play FLAC and other lossless codecs
give us gapless playback
it’s annoying when listening to rock classics like Quadrophenia and other concept albums that have tracks that ‘blend’ together to be interrupted by a track pause.
I would like the new firmware to have the podcast and audiobook folders automatically created on a micro SD card inserved into the player if they aren’t there already, and I want the player to treat the contents of these as it does the contents of these folders in main memory. I would like to be able to have files with any genre tags placed in them, but for them to appear in the special podcast or audiobook sections.
I really appreciate the effort to get feedback, and I don’t want to seem picky, but come on…when are we going to have access to the new firmware update?
Its been months and while the firmware is stable, there are many requests, some of which are minor changes in a few lines of code.
If there are major new feature additions, why not provide a firmware release to address the minor changes with a major update later to add new features. Some people may only want the minor changes anyway. In my case, mp3 and wma are fine…all I am looking for are a few simple code changes to menus and database accesses. That does not take months of effort.
I know I’m still new to the Fuze and I have encountered some issues with te player also… Biggest being some end of track skipping same as a few others… But the play list number is my only real concern and I’ll have awhile to go before I reach that 3700+ number… I picked the fuze over the view because of the stability of the firmware, reading the boards and asking questions here… I’m going to let the few brave ones give the new firmware a good run in before I Load it in our two players… A big thank you to Sandisk ahead of time from George & Penny Both very happy users!
