It seems to me that whatever SanDisk can do to make things easier for Apple/Mac/iTunes users only helps SanDisk get them as customers, and increase sales. Having aac capability would be part of that.
There is a real opening for the Clips, over the limited Shuffle and those who don’t need or want the video of the Nano. Making it easy for users of those players would help.
It’d be nice if Playing from the Folder View would skip the Mac “Dot files” instead of trying to play them and repeating the whole folder because of them. I had the same problem with Fuze. I know there’s and option to delete the Dot Files before unmounting the clip+ and there even exist some applescripts that semi-automate this, but it’s be nice Sansa’s players would just skip these files.
I’m not sure this issue is unique to just Sansa mp3 players. I wouldn’t be surprised if all non-pod players have this issue.
Indeed, the Cowon players have problems when paired with Mac computers also.
>If you have to constantly format the player because of a recurring “Not enough space” error message, then you have one or more corrupted files on the device that’s causing it. Firmware isn’t going to fix this; you have to. Treat the disease, not the symptoms.
Mine’s brand new and I still get this message, even before I out anything on it. What corrupted file should I be looking for then?

If it’s brand new with nothing added to it yet and doing this, personally I’d beat feet to return it. You paid for a working product. You deserve a working product. You didn’t get a working product. Return it and get another one.
Or if you’d rather play around with it (and hope nothing else goes wrong with it later when it’s too late), you could try re-installing/updating the firmware. The download link and instructions are in the 1st post of this thread.
Jeff is probably long gone, but the answer to his message would have saved me a lot of back-and-forth with Support. It turns out that if you put the player in MSC mode before connecting it to the PC, you can load the clppa.bin firmware update file to the root directory with no problems, and the update proceeds normally when you disconnect.
p.s. Do Not mess with the folders pre-loaded onto the Clip+, even if you don’t use them and would rather they were off the menu list…
Note that with the EU version/setting, your volume is limited; with the others, no–there is a High volume setting.
you are right…
I Changed back to world and the firmware now is Rev P but can change to high in the settings…
that way I dont have to use max out Vol when Im out or on the bus
