SanDisk provides good SSD products. However, their software (and firmware) support is terrible. They do not support any OS besides Windows: Linux users have no chance. And the latest Dashboard does not work on Windows 7: No chance for old users either.
What options can be suggested for Linux and Windows 7 users?
That is what I am talking about: SanDisk SSDs are used in a variety of operating systems. SanDisk should provide an “operating system agnostic” way of upgrading SSD firmware. For example, a bootable ISO may be provided for checking SMART data and upgrading SSD firmware, so that the user does not have to run a “supported operating system.” I am sure that there are non-Intel platforms that use these SSDs; SanDisk support should cover also these…
Linux is a freakin mess. I’m glad no business wastes their time and money supporting it. It’s just increases the cost of doing business for the rest of us.
