Sandisk U3 Launchpad problem on Windows 7

As stated, this appears to be a problem with Windows 7 on a desktop, since it is OK on a laptop on Windows XP. It was OK until recently, now I don’t get the password protection display when the stick is inserted, but it just shows an empty stick. The password protection and the U3 Launchpad behaves correctly on the laptop. I think there may has been a registry change to cause the problem on the PC. Alternatively, the U3 software no longer works on Windows 7, since it is considered obsolete; could that be the problem? If the latter is the case, what is the modern method of password protection on Sandisk USB sticks?

On occasion Windows 7 doesn’t run the U3 Launchpad on my machine also.  I find rebooting the machine resolves the problem.

I have the same problem but on desktop with WinXP. Today when I connect pen i didnt get the password protection display and stick looks like empty. I tried restart pc but this didnt work. Someone have any solution ? Sry for my language ;)
