Recently I bought a few Sandisk Extreme 64GB flashdrives. I checked the drives with h2testw. One was a bit slower than the other drives. So I clicked „Properties“, it displayed FAT 32.
Formatting displayed exfat, 128kb and NTFS, but not FAT 32. I started „Formatting“. After this the drive was even much slower.
Done that on Win8.1. Why is not FAT 32 displayed? Is formatting the problem and the drive broken? What is the best way to format it as FAT 32, perhaps Win is not able to format a 64GB drive?
thats a very strange issue and it can be that the drives are counterfeit. i would suggest contacting the sandisk support to see if the drive is genuine and to see what else can be done in that case with the drive
you can contact them directly under the following phone numbers

FAT32 doesn’t support drives over 32GB. SanDisk drives 64GB and larger come formated as exFAT and Windows does support formatting 64GB and larger drives as exFAT and NTFS.
