Sandisk Extreme SSD (1tb Gen 2) won't register online and Dashboard won't conduct S.M.A.R.T test

I just bought the new 1tb Extreme SSD (gen 2 w/ read and write speeds up to 1050 mb/s) and it won’t let me register it online. They say the product does not match with the SN. I did not see any other product option to register it under other than "Retail SSD: Extreme (Portable) 1tb). Also when I downloaded the Sandisk Dashboard, the 1tb SSD would not perform any S.M.A.R.T tests and I even tried to use a third party app and it would not even find the SSD. I’m wondering if there is something wrong with my particular SSD or if everything hasn’t updated yet because it is so new. But I feel like I should be able to at least register it on their website. If anyone knows what happened, please let me know as I would hate to return this expensive device! (I bought it from where it was ship/sold from amazon itself)
