Sandisk Extreme 64Gb show only 27GB

Hello,

I have a Sandisk Extreme micro SD

  • 64GB XC I V30 U3 A1 micro SD
which in Windows 10 only shows as a 27GB disk.
In disk manager and in Diskpart listing.

How can I regain the full capacity of the micro SD?

Thanx Jaap

Hi all,

Found the tool: SD Card Formatter v5.
Format et voila 58GB available

Greetings

There are two ways ot fix it:

Way 1. Format SD Card to full capacity with DiskPart Command:

  • diskpart
  • list disk
  • select disk m where m is the SD card number.
  • clean
  • create partition primary
  • format fs=ntfs quick

Way 2. Restore SD card to full capacity with free partition manager.
There are more details to fix SD card not showing full capacity.

It may indicate lost storage space, potential damage, or improper formatting if your SanDisk Extreme 64GB disk is only showing 27GB. This can keep you from using the entire drive and could be a sign of more serious problems.

  • Plug in your SanDisk drive
  • Open File Explorer → Right-click the drive → Click Format

Set:

  • File system: exFAT (or FAT32 if needed)
  • Quick Format: checked
  • Click Start
  • That’s it. This will wip

If this method does not work, then you need a proper professional solution. My friend Mingyu suggested to me BLR Data Recovery Software. It’s helpful for me to recover Windows data files. I hope this solution is helpful in your solution.

cards > 32GB should use exFAT all the way to 4TB and beyond
